WCA2026 takes place in Marrakech, Morocco — a well-established international congress destination with modern infrastructure, strong security, and excellent air connectivity.
The congress will be held at the Palais des Congrès de Marrakech, located in the city’s central Hivernage district.

Travel & Transport
- Airport: Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK), approximately 15–20 minutes from the venue.
- Airport Shuttle Bus (L19): The ALSA Bus 19 runs directly from Marrakech Menara Airport to the city centre, with stops including Gueliz, Bab Doukkala, Marrakech Railway Station, and Jemaa el-Fna. Services run approximately every 20–30 minutes from 06:00 to 23:30. The fare is 30 MAD (approx. €3 / $3 USD) one-way or 50 MAD (approx. €5 / $5 USD) return; tickets are purchased on board. The bus stop is located just outside the arrivals terminal. Please note this is a public bus service.
- Taxis: Two types of taxi operate in Marrakech. Petit taxis (small, red vehicles) are used for journeys within the city centre and can carry up to three passengers. Grand taxis are larger and suited to longer trips or groups. Taxis are readily available; agree the fare in advance if the meter is not used.
- Ride-hailing Apps: Uber is not available in Marrakech. The local equivalent is Heetch, available to download on iOS and Android. Fares are agreed in advance within the app.
- Walking: Many hotels are within walking distance of the congress venue.
- Traffic: Allow additional time during peak hours (08:00–10:00; 17:00–19:00).

- Currency: Moroccan Dirham (MAD).
- Credit cards: Visa and Mastercard widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and larger retailers.
- Cash: Recommended for taxis and smaller businesses.
- ATMs: Widely available throughout the city and at the airport.
- Tipping: 5–10% in restaurants if service is not already included.
Dress & Professional Attire
- Business or smart-casual attire is appropriate for congress sessions.
- April temperatures are typically warm during the day and cooler in the evening.
- A light jacket is recommended for air-conditioned spaces.
